What We Do

  • We have received a grant from the NYS DEC Environmental Protection Fund to develop a Lake Management Plan to combat invasive species.
  • We hand harvest and establish barriers to control Variable Leaf Milfoil.

  • We work with the Adirondack Lake Assessment Program (ALAP), a water quality monitoring program. Both the Citizens Statewide Lake Assessment Program (CSLAP) and ALAP provide annual reports on Raquette Lake’s water quality. Learn more about how we monitor lake quality.
  • We participate in the Annual Loon Census that is held the 3rd Saturday of July to provide an annual snapshot of the breeding loon population in the state.  Results of the census over time provide valuable information regarding the status and trends in New York’s summer loon population.
  • We investigated options to provide lake-wide broadband internet service.
  • We recognize full time resident contributions to the local community with an annual person-of-the-year award and support local emergency service and community organizations.
  • We promote local and Adirondack organizational events on this website.
